Fees for public services: lower receipts, higher expenditure
The Federal Finance Administration (FFA) analysed the financing of selected public services in the cantons and communes: driver and vehicle licensing office, general legal issues, water supply/wastewater disposal and waste management. The data shows that the proportion of costs financed by fees was lower in 2023 than in 2022. Overall, 74.7% of costs were covered by fees in the four areas analysed (2022: 77.0%).
