Requests for document access under the Transparency Act:

The Federal Law on Transparency of the Administration and the associated implementing ordinance (in force since 1 July 2006) set out the “principle of transparency, subject to confidentiality”. In accordance with this principle, every person has the right to access official documents issued after entry into force of the Act. No special interest needs to be shown. Access to documents may be restricted or denied in order to protect outweighing public or private interests.

Processing is subject to a fee; in the case of simple and straightforward requests, however, the fee is waived.
