Data Basis

The macroeconomic parameters form the basis for the federal government's financial planning.

The data portal is the electronic information system for federal finances. It allows searching for and illustrating the desired federal budget data independently.

Under Open Government Data all data portal data are available for download (two files in accordance with the OGD standard of opendata.swiss).

The time series contain data series showing the trend since 1990. The data is grouped by financial statement and budget.

Federal budget in accordance with SDDS: the Special Data Dissemination Standard (SDDS) was established by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in order to guide member countries who have, or wish to have, access to international capital markets. The functioning of financial markets should be improved through better and standardized information. Additionally, compliance with the standard should contribute to good and transparent economic policy. Switzerland has committed itself in 1996 to the standard.

Financial planning parameters

The macroeconomic parameters form the basis for the Confederation's financial planning, and are themselves based on economic forecasts from SECO and internal assumptions by the Federal Finance Administration. They are updated quarterly and serve as a basis for the budget, the financial plan and the state financial statements.

The Federal Finance Administration's data portal offers an interactive platform for analysing federal finances.

Open Government Data

The Open Government Data (OGD) of the Federal Finance Administration comprises freely accessible and machine-readable federal financial data. It is available at opendata.swiss and contains datasets on the overall budget, institutions and time series.

Data of the Confederation in accordance with the SDDS Plus

The federal financial data according to SDDS Plus complies with the Special Data Dissemination Standard (SDDS) of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). This standard ensures the international transparency and comparability of financial reporting.
