Around three quarters of service costs are fee-financed

On average, 77% of the cantons' and communes' costs in four selected task areas were financed by fees in 2022, representing a slight year-on-year decline of 0.7%. This is demonstrated by the fee-based financing indicator computed by the Federal Finance Administration (FFA). This indicator sets the public sector fee income generated in certain task areas against the corresponding costs.
